2. Placing an order with us
- You must be 18 years old to place an order with us. If you are under 18, a parent/guardian must place the order on your behalf.
- When you place an order, you make an offer to buy goods. We’ll email to confirm we’ve received your order—this is not acceptance. Your order is accepted when we dispatch the goods.
- If goods are unavailable, there’s an error in pricing/description, or we suspect fraud/abuse, we may cancel your order and refund you in full at any point prior to dispatch.
- Product images are illustrative. Items may vary slightly from pictures. Accessories shown are not included unless stated. Some items may require assembly.
- We try to display colours accurately but cannot guarantee every device’s display is exact.
- All information is provided in good faith and is approximate.
- This contract is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- By ordering you accept these Terms, our Privacy & Cookie Policy, and Website Use terms.
3. How to place an order
- Order online by adding products to your basket and completing checkout. You can remove items at any time before payment.
- Delivery/carriage charges (if any) are shown before you place your order.
- Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering.
- We use secure payment facilities. We accept major debit/credit cards and PayPal (additional options may be shown at checkout).
- Promotional prices apply only during the period stated.
- Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
- Once an order is confirmed, changes may not be possible or may incur delays/charges.
- We’ll email you when your order dispatches.
4. Shipping & Delivery
- We aim to dispatch promptly; any dates shown are estimates and may change without notice.
- Delivery times depend on the service selected and your location. Delivery aims shown at checkout are guidance only.
- Your order may arrive in more than one parcel.
- We deliver to the address specified at checkout. Deliveries usually occur Mon–Fri, 9:00–18:00.
- If you instruct the carrier to leave goods unattended/in a “safe place” or arrange redelivery to another address, you accept responsibility for loss/damage once delivered per your instruction.
- Address changes after dispatch may incur a carrier surcharge.
- Please check your parcel on delivery. Missing/damaged items must be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery (or the expected delivery date for missing items).
- Sometimes events outside our control (e.g. weather, strikes, carrier issues) may delay delivery. We’ll try to put things right quickly, but we’re not liable for such delays.
- Free UK delivery on orders over £75 (service and exclusions shown at checkout).
5. Returns & Refunds
- Statutory right to cancel (distance purchases). You can cancel within 14 days from the day after you (or someone you nominate) receives the goods. To cancel, email sales@thehobbyforge.co.uk with your order number.
- Goodwill returns. In addition to your statutory rights, we offer a 28-day goodwill return window for most items, provided they’re unused, unopened and in resaleable condition with original packaging.
- You are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or we sent the wrong item. Use a tracked service and keep proof of posting.
- If you don’t return cancelled goods, we may arrange collection and deduct the direct cost from your refund.
- Refunds are made to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods (or proof of posting), subject to inspection. We may deduct for handling that diminishes value beyond what’s reasonable to inspect the item.
- Business/trade orders are excluded from consumer cancellation rights unless agreed otherwise.
- This policy does not affect your legal rights.
6. Faulty goods
- If there’s a problem with your item, contact us with details (photos help). We’ll handle your claim in line with consumer law.
- Many products include a manufacturer’s warranty; terms vary by brand.
- If an exchange/refund is approved, we’ll process it without unreasonable delay. If items are found not faulty on inspection, they will be returned to you and you’ll cover postage.
7. Price & payment
- The price you pay is the price displayed at checkout at the time of ordering.
- If VAT changes between order and dispatch, we’ll adjust the VAT unless you’ve already paid in full.
- Despite our best efforts, pricing errors can occur. If a price is obviously incorrect, we may cancel and refund before dispatch.
- We accept major cards and PayPal (and any additional methods shown at checkout). Payment authorisation is required at checkout.
8. Liability
- Products comply with relevant UK legislation. We can’t confirm compliance with laws outside the UK.
- We’re responsible for foreseeable loss/damage caused by us, but not for losses that are not foreseeable, or for business losses (loss of profit, business interruption, etc.).
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death/personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be limited.
9. Discounts, promotions and codes
- Codes/offers are time-limited, non-transferable, single-use (unless stated), and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Only one code per order. Codes usually apply to full-priced items and exclude delivery unless stated otherwise.
- Orders remain subject to stock/acceptance. We may withdraw or amend promotions at any time.
- If returns reduce your order below any qualifying spend, the benefit of the code/offer may be deducted from your refund.
